We let our emotions control our lives and we are at their mercy. We fear being labeled as “not good enough” or a “failure” instead of stopping to process what it will take to turn it into a success. If we get passed over for a promotion, the first thing we do is go onto the online job sites looking for another job instead of learning from what we are not doing right in our present position. We get a fresh start with minimal recourse instead of digging in and facing the challenge. This is why divorce and bankruptcy are so prevalent in our society. We know deep down that we are capable of handling the challenge but we determine that it is easier to run then face our demons like fear and insecurity. Times when we are faced with the biggest challenges, we choose to run from the situation instead of staying to fight for what we know is right. We don’t look for the solution to the challenge instead we opt to let it control us. We let our fear fuel the failure mentality instead of facing the challenge head on in a positive manner. We feel like the odds are stacked against us and we are down for the count. Often times, we feel like the weight of the world is crashing down upon us and the prospect of overcoming the challenge is formidable.
